Barbara brings over 30 years of compassionate experience working closely with families and children, with 20 of those years dedicated specifically to the adoption field. As an adoptive parent herself, Barbara offers a rare, firsthand understanding of the emotional and logistical journey that families undergo. Her personal background, combined with her professional expertise, brings a unique layer of empathy, guidance, and deep insight to every home study processed at NC Homestudies, LLC.
Joylyn Connell, LCSW| Executive Director
Joylyn (Joy) serves as our Executive Director, drawing on an extensive and proven background in family and child advocacy. Driven by a true passion for adoption, Joylyn is wholeheartedly dedicated to ensuring that every single family feels safe, informed, and thoroughly supported from their initial application through to their finalization. Her mission is to streamline the compliance process while maintaining a warm, encouraging environment for future parents.
Erin Adkins, MSW| Home Study Social Worker
Erin brings years of experience in child welfare and advocacy to her role. She loves connecting with families as they begin their adoption journey and celebrates alongside them when their child finally comes home.
